Joseph E. Watko, Jr.

Joseph E. Watko, Jr., 76, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Affinity Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was born in Clairton, PA on July 12, 1937 to the late Joseph E. and Anna (Raynak) Watko, Sr.. Joseph received his Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University. He began his career at Gray Drug, continued with Schuman Drug and retired from Rite Aid Pharmacy on Wales Rd.. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a past president of the Ohio Pharmacy Association. He was dedicated to his family and his work. He is survived by his wife, Sally Lou (Diehl) Watko, whom he married on September 2, 1961; their children, Cindy Watko, Tom (Susan) Watko, and Tim Watko all of Massillon and Ted Watko of North Canton; two grandchildren, Michael and Julie Watko; a brother, Jerome Watko of Elrama, PA; and a sister, Joann Aufderheide of McCormick, SC. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Watko. Friends and family may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00PM-8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Massillon on Thursday at 10:00AM, Fr. Raymond Paul, Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
