Joseph E. Nameth, Jr., age 85 of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3, 1930 and was the son of the late Joseph and Barbara Ann (Horvath) Nameth, Sr. Joe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army (and Marine Corps for 7 months) and was awarded the Bronze Star, the U.N. Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Merit Unit Citation. He then went on to work at the former Wheeling & Lake Erie and Nickel Plate Railroads and then transferred to The Timken Company railroad division, retiring in 1990 following 27 years of service. He was a 50 year member of Clinton Lodge F.&A.M. #47, the Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland, Hiram Chapter #18, Massillon Commandery #4 and Canton Council #35. Joe is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. (Marchuk) Nameth They were married in Youngstown, Ohio in 1951 and moved to Massillon that year. They celebrated 64 years of marriage on August 18, 2015. He also leaves behind his aunt Wanda Horvath, sisters-in-law Annie Marchuk and Kathryn Palko, nephew and neice Thomas and Kay Palko, special friends Betty and Nicki Pribich of North Carolina, many cousins and his special furry love, Dasha. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Rev. Julia Wertz will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour before the service. Clinton Lodge will hold a Masonic service tonight at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joe's name to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45229.
