Joseph E. Medure

Joseph E. Medure, 89 of Navarre, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Canton Regency. He was born on August 26, 1927 in Massillon and was the son of the late Dominic and Antoinette (Surachi) Medure. Joe retired from Republic Steel in 1984, where he was a roll grinder. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed turtle trapping, fishing and hunting . He was devoted to his family, and showed them all how to love and care. He was strong, yet sensitive at the same time. He will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Margaret H. (Clapper) Medure, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Bruce (Cinda) Medure, Ronald (Margie) Medure, Debbie (Bill) Bonk, Joseph T. (Brandy) Medure and Rosie (John) Gardiner. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, his sister-in-law, JoAnn (Bill) Waller and his special longtime companion Jo Fisher. Funeral services will take place at 12:00 noon on Thursday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon with Fr. Michael Seifert officiating. Burial will follow at East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. There are no calling hours. The family wishes to thank the staffs at the Canton Regency and Aultman Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to him during his stay.
