Joseph Dean, Sr.

Joseph Dean Sr., age 93, of Massillon, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Thursday, June 20, 2013 surrounded by his children. Joe was born on November 28, 1919 in Akron, the son of John and Cora (Viglione) Dean. Joe lived in the area his entire life. He and his wife Virginia owned West Park Tavern for 25 years. Joe was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia in 2008 and 4 sisters. He is survived by his children and their spouses Rita Christine (Maurice) Crevier of Eden Prairie, MN, John M. (Pamela) Dean, and Joseph J. Dean both of Massillon; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery Deacon Steve Wyles will be officiating.
