Joseph Baker Immler, 80, of Massillon, passed away on October 1, 2024 at Aultman Woodlawn.
He was born on September 21, 1944 to the late Joseph and Janet (Baker) Immler in Little Rock, Arkansas.
A graduate of McKinley High School, he was a veteran of The United States Army, serving in Vietnam from 1965-1967. Joe worked for the Canton City Fire Department from 1974-1988, then worked for several fire apparatus manufacturers, and BNSF Railway until his retirement in 2010. Joe was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Early Ford V-8 Society, Massillon Area Classic Car Club, Yesterday's Classic Car Club, and the Nickel Plate Road Historical Society.
Joe is survived by his loving children, Jennifer (Daniel) Justus and Joseph (Jodi) Immler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Satkowski.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon. Canton Fire Department will have a Last Alarm Service at 2:45pm, with a memorial service to start at 3:00 pm, Fr. Scott Kopp officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in St. John's Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to The Wounded Warrior Foundation or St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
