Jon Wayne Crossen, 74 of Massillon, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018. Jon was born on June 18, 1943 in Massillon, the son of the late Nile and Dorothy (Dorffer) Crossen. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Jon worked for Crown Cork and Seal, retiring in 2005. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, cooking, grilling, and swimming at the Massillon Recreation Center. Jon was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his half brothers, Charles and Harry Crossen. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Fowler) Crossen whom he shared 55 years of marriage; his children and their spouses, Jon (Sandra) Crossen II, Debra (David) Hanna, and Tessi (Charlie) Seymour all of Massillon and James (Ellen) Crossen of Loganville, Ga; grandchildren, Kevin, Amanda, Jennifer, Jessica, Sara, Freddie, Cody, Jesse, Seth and Anthony; 10 great - grandchildren and his beloved dog, Jasmine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
