Jolee A. Getz, age 65 of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on September 04, 2020. She was born on March 24, 1955 to Richard E. Powell and the late Jo Ann (Swisher) Powell. She was a 1973 graduate of Northwest High School. She married John W. Getz Sr. on November 21, 1975 and they shared 20 years together until his passing 1995. Jolee enjoyed crocheting, making costumes, clothes, toys and watching her Soap Operas. Jolee was a kind, loving and generous person and was known for being very giving and compassionate. She will forever be remembered as devoted and loving daughter, mother (even to those who were not her biological children.), grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Angela (Blake) Riehl, John (Marie) Getz, Patrisha (Billie) Riehl; her God daughter Jennifer (Steve) Williams; her grandchildren Michelle (Lucas) Getz-Dolak, Mikala (Terry) Riehl-Mayle, Zeth Riehl, Trent Riehl, Connor Getz, Kourtney Weber, Brittinie (Matthew) Dominik, Alex Riehl, and Clarissa Riehl; her great-grandchildren Toby, Alannah, Jaxson, Ronin, and Baby Mayle; her father Richard Powell; her sisters Jerri Stimmel and Clarissa (Scott) Ray; her God Sister Diane Jacobs, her faithful canine companion Gracie and a host of family and friends. In addition to her mother and her husband, Jolee was preceded in death by her sister Michelle Powell, her brother Michael Powell and her loving, but high maintenance canine companion Sassy. A Celebration of Jolee’s life will be held at Canton Calvary Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 5-7pm. Donations to the family can be made to defray funeral expenses.
