John W. Fenstermaker, Jr., 93, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016, following a brief illness. He was born in Massillon on February 11, 1923 to the late John W. and Hazel (Gault) Fenstermaker, Sr. John was a graduate of Washington High School and played in the Tiger Swing Band under George Burd. A veteran of World War II he served in The United States Army and was a life member of The American Legion Post # 221. John and his father owned and operated City Tire until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church and loved to golf, dance and play cards. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Fenstermaker and six brothers and sisters. Friends may gather at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens on April 8, 2016 for a Memorial service to be held at 11:00am, Dr. Roger Alber, officiating. .
