John Virgil Lawson

John Virgil Lawson, age 69, of Massillon passed away Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Canton on November 2nd, 1937 to the late Virgil & Evelyn (Lee) Lawson. John graduated from Middlebranch High School. John enlisted in the Army to serve his country in Korea. After returning from the war he met & married the love of his life, Connie (Runt). John was an associate of the Timken Co. for 30+ yrs. After he retired he loved to golf and to drive his riding mowers. John was a loyal member of the McKinley Eagles since June of 1968. John was known to be tough as a whip but he had a marshmallow heart. He was preceded in death by his parents & sister: Lorrie Clark. Survived by Wife Connie (Runt)(Capuano) Lawson of Massillon 3 daughters Catherine Prandine of South Carolina Carlean Wood of California Jodine Crissey of Massillon 8 grandchildren Michael & Justin Prandine of Georgia Nicole Barton of Georgia Mitchell, Matthew & Morgan Wood of Canton Parker & Danni Crissey of Massillon 1 great granddaughter Breanna Barton of Georgia 3 brothers Richard & Lonnie Lawson of Canton Edward Talbott of Canton Robert Talbott of Alliance 4 sisters Judy Valykeo of Canton Vickie & Steven Studeney of Navarre Jeannette White of N. Canton Joyce Clark of Canton numerous nieces & nephews Sisters & brother-in-laws of Connie Lawson. He also will be sadly missed by all of his golf buddies. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
