John Uliveto, 95, of Massillon passed away Tuesday March 24, 2009 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born in Naples, Italy January 8, 1914 to the late Pasquale and Theresa (DeFalco) Uliveto. He married Angelina (Marzullo) January 9, 1949. She preceded him in death in 1993. John came to Massillon in 1927. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Ecuador to guard the oil fields. He was a roller in the stainless steel division of Republic Steel retiring in 1976 after 42 years of employment. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. John enjoyed his retirement, and entertaining his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. John is survived by daughter Angela (David) Watkins of Massillon; sons John (Susan) Uliveto of Findlay, OH, and Anthony (Delores) Uliveto of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, and brother Tony Uliveto. Calling hours will be Friday from 6-8 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11: 00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Contributions in John’s memory may be given to Meals on Wheels of Stark and Wayne Counties.
