John U. Grunder

John U. Grunder age 77 of Massillon passed away Saturday September 29, 2012. He was born to the late Christian & Mary (Church) Grunder on November 25, 1934. He was a 1952 graduate of Washington High School and served in the Ohio National Guard. John was employed for 23 years at Tyson and then 10 years at National Feed Screw as a tool and die maker. John will always be remembered as a person who always thought of others. He was preceded in death by a son John Michael Grunder (2003) and a brother Christian 'Rudy' Grunder in 2011. John was a loving and devoted husband to the love of his life, M. 'Tuffy' Grunder with whom he would have shared 54 years of marriage on November 29th. They have two children: Joni & Bob Giles and their children, Michael & Kylee; Michael & Dina Grunder and their children, Anna and Johnny. In addition he leaves behind a sister and sister in law: Elizabeth Grunder and Barb Grunder. There are several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Friday. Rev. Fr. Daniel Rogich will officiate.
