John Robert Arther, Jr

John Robert "Bob" Arther Jr., 85, of, Jackson Township, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. Bob was born April 30, 1931 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to John Robert and Hortense (Kremer) Arther. He attended Allegheny College where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and was a graduate of South Dakota State University. He retired from Arther Printing, Inc. in Akron and was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon where he was actively involved in the Men's Study Group. He served his country in the United States Navy Reserve. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy G. Arther and brother, Ted Arther. Bob will be deeply missed by his daughter Susan Mason and son-in-law Stephen of Bethlehem, PA and son John Arther and daughter-in-law Kathleen of Hudson, OH; grandchildren, David Mason, Emily Arther, Alexander Arther, and Clarice Arther; great-granddaughter, Annalise Arther. A memorial service will be held on November 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd NE, Massillon, OH, 44646 with Rev. Larry Lalama officiating. Cremation has taken place. Private inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund Program at Central Presbyterian Church, 47 Second Street NE, Massillon, OH 44646.
