John J. Barahona, 73, passed away November 27, 2011. He was born on January 14, 1938 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Joseph M. and Mary A. (Furtado) Barahona. He served 6 years in U.S. Navy. He married Madonna Nussbaumer on July 20, 1963 and she survives him. John retired from K-Mart after 35 years of service, and after his retirement was a part-time employee of J & G Auto Parts in Navarre. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an amazing, husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed golfing, outdoors and his beloved Boston Red Sox. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Judy Schall and John "Jack" (Amy) Barahona, his grandchildren, Lena Schall, Eric & Megan Barahona, a brother, Jerome Barahona of Mystic, Connecticut and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa D. Barahona, a granddaughter, Theresa D. Schall, 2 brothers Joseph & James Barahona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 10A.M., Fr. Edward Gretchko, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
