John J Budnie, Jr.

March 9, 1949 — August 3, 2017

John J. Budnie, Jr., 68, of Perry Township, passed away on August 3, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Canton, Ohio on March 9, 1949 to John Sr. and Rose (Yakubisin) Budnie. John was a 1967 graduate of Central Catholic High School and also a 1972 graduate of Kent State University. He held a real estate license and worked for A-1 Realty. John was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, a member of the Perry History Club, Miraculous Medal Promoter and a prayer warrior. In his spare time, John enjoyed being outdoors, especially in his garden. He will be deeply missed by his sister Maureen Budnie; Aunt Martha and Aunt Irene; his furry companion Sunny Day; as well as several cousins. John was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Gerald Budnie. John was known as a brother, nephew, cousin and friend. His motto in life and one of his best qualities was to “never quit” or “never give up”. He will be remembered for his strength and strong willed personality. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Canton with Fr. David Weikart officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery Don’t Quit When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don’t give up though, the pace seems slow— You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out— The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit— It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit
