John H. Hartman

John H. Hartman, 86 of Massillon, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. John was born on March 19, 1928 in New Straitsville, OH the son of John P. and Dorothy (Hartman) Jones. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving our country during WWII. John worked for Republic Steel in Canton and retired in 1990. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father Paul Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Betty I. (Seckler) Hartman whom he married on May 28, 1948; his children and their spouses, John T. Hartman, Paul F. (Lindi) Hartman, Pamela S. Hartman, David D. (Jacquie) Hartman and Daniel E. (Kathy) Hartman; 29 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren; and several step-siblings. The family would like to thank the staff of Crossroads Hospice for their care and compassion. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no calling hours.
