John F. Schubert, age 88 of Massillon, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at Aultman Hospital. He was born on July 14, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late John F. and Estella G. (Pugh) Schubert, Sr. John lived in Massillon for the past 50 years and retired from Hercules Engineering in 1987. He was a United States Army veteran and served our country during WWII. John was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post #221, Massillon F.O.E., and the V.F.W. Post #3124. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn M. Schubert in 1999 and his grandson J. Aaron Stranger in 1985. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Ron) Stranger of Massillon and Marilyn (Dale) Drechsler of N. Canton; his grandchildren, Matthew (Stacey) Drechsler, Amy (Tim) Taylor and Chris Stranger; his great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Courtney Taylor; his brother-in-law, Ferman Sayre and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Rev. Edd Matako will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wishes Can Happen Inc. 1310 N. Main Street, N.
