John F. Ginther

November 20, 1917 — February 2, 2006

John F. Ginther age 88 of Massillon passed away Thursday evening at the Canton Regency. John was born on November 20, 1917 in Massillon to Charles H. and Kathryn (Wehrle) Ginther. He served in the Army in the Field Artillery during WWII in Europe and was honorably discharged on November 22, 1945. He was employed with Fabericated Machine Company for 15 years and retired in 1982. After retirement John had a woodworking shop from which he made many beautiful wood pieces. John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon. He is survived by his wife, Bertha L. (McCarty) Ginther whom he married on May 3, 1941; daughters, Michelle E. (Roger) Cope of Massillon, Kathryn Ginther of Canton; son, Michael J. (Linda) Ginther of Massillon; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Doris Ruddle of Lewiston, Idaho; brother, Richard C. Ginther of Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Raymond Paul officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 A.M. on Tuesday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Donations may be made in John's memory to the St. Vincent dePaul Society.
