John F. Costello III, age 67 of North Canton, Ohio died on Sunday August 15, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. He was born on December 1, 1942 in Canton and was the son of the late John F. and Edith (Love) Costello II. He was an area resident for most of his life, but lived in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada and Bucyrus, Ohio for a 15 years period before returning to North Canton in 1985. He graduated from Lehman High School in 1960. He received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Walsh University and earned his Master’s degree from Ashland University. He retired from the Timken Company in 2006 as an internal auditor following 40 years of service. He was a board member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, where he had served as treasurer and on the audit committee. He was a member of the Serbian National Federation Lodge, and since 1986 was a member of the Jackson Sideliners, where he had served as president and treasurer. While in Bucyrus, John was active with the United Way and Junior Achievement. He is survived by his wife, Diane L. (Pribich) Costello, whom he married on August 6, 1966, his daughter, Kecia (Brian) Bullock of Gahanna, OH, his son John F. “J-J” Costello, IV of Columbus, OH, his granddaughters, Natasa and Isabella Bullock of Gahanna and his sister Sarah (Mike) Hillyer of Aurora, OH. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and Kumovi. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 12:00 Noon at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Dragan Filipovic officiating and Rev. Fr. Dan Rogich co-officiating. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and at the church on Thursday from 11:00 – 12:00 noon. A Pomen service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. At the family’s request, memorials may be made in the name of John F. Costello III to either the Jackson Sideliners Scholarship Fund or St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 4665 Applegrove NW, North Canton, OH 44720.
