John E. Swint, 86, passed away on September 21, 2019, at Alter Care at Nobles Pond in Canton, following an extended illness. He was born in Notasulga, AL on December 1, 1932, to the late Jimmy Andrew and Ora Lee (Motley) Swint. John lived in Canton most of his life. He worked for Massillon Steel Castings and part time jobs and then finally retired from Goodwill Industries as a security guard. He loved listening to Gospel Songs and watching televangelist preaching on television. He was known to be soft spoken, gentle, kind hearted with a gentle soul. He was a former member of Church OF THE Living God, Pillar Ground OF The Truth and Mt. Nebo Holiness Church, where he served as a Deacon. He leaves to mourn his memory his daughter, Ora Lee( Merthy Frazier) Williams; granddaughter, Davora Williams; sisters, Frances "Von" Thomas, Betty Young and Margie Swint; a nephew, whom he helped raise, Evie Hudson Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Clara J. (Arnold) Swint; sisters, Doris Iverson and Annie Ruth Swint; and brothers, Jimmie Lee and James Swint. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 10am -11am, with a Home Going Celebration to start at 11am, Pastor Carlos Morris, Officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Louisville. The Swint family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff for their skilled care at Aultman Hospital and Alter Care at Nobles Pond.
