John W. Dorsey

John W. Dorsey, 71, of Canton, Ohio, passed away March 31, 2025. He was born on January 11, 1954 in Massillon, Ohio.

Music was John's passion, he enjoyed listening to any type of music. He was president of Men's Chorus and Community Men's Choir. John was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was very active in his service and served on various ministries. He sang for many years with "Strictly Business", featuring Universal Unit. John had an ever present sense of style and fashion; he was always dressed to impress.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Dorsey and Classie (Evin) Roland.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Dorsey; step-daughters, Andreas Ellis, Shawnta Forester; special son, Dorian Bucey; grandchildren, Austin Forester, Xavier Ellis, and Leila Forester; brothers, Bruce Dorsey, Victor (Catherine) Dorsey, and Chester (Janet) Dorsey; sisters, Sandra (Roy) Copeland, and Sylvia Dorsey; special cousin, Joe Waters; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday, April 7, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church (1111 3rd St SE, Massillon, Ohio). Funeral services will begin at 12:00pm, with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family requests that any flower arrangements be sent to Shiloh Baptist Church.
