Grandchildren, Alysssa and Jena Neubauer, Kayle, Nolan, and Luke Helline, Riley Helline, Amanda and Matthew Congeni. John was a true humanitarian. He cherished family and friends. He welcomed all, treated all with dignity and respect and had a fantastic sense of humor to make an irresistible combination! It was a true joy to know John, to have him in your life in any capacity. He made you feel so important with just one handshake, one smile, or one amazing hug. He was a lifetime parishioner of Saint Mary’s, graduate of Canton Central Catholic, and a U.S. Army veteran. Generous with time, volunteering with several organizations such as the Massillon Jaycee’s, the Boys and Girls Club, the Salvation Army, the Ulster Project, Foreign exchange student, Board of Directors Saint John’s Villa, and Guardian Ad Litem. He was a Tiger football fan and frequent visitor to the Massillon Museum and a staunch supporter of local businesses. He was never without a four legged companion rescued from the Humane Society. In his career, he owned and operated the Massillon Sugar Bowl, Herbie’s Heroes, and the Quality Nut Company. In his final years here on earth, John suffered from Alzheimer’s. Rest easy now Dad and spend time catching up with your parents and your brothers. We are no longer lucky enough to have you. It is now our time to celebrate your journey.
