John D. “Jack” Meanor, 66 of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was born in Massillon on January 14, 1951 and was the son of John and Ruthanne (Normile) Meanor. They preceded him in death. After 27 years, Jack retired from Republic Steel where he was a machinist. Prior to that, he worked at Superior Brand Meats for 17 years. He attended St. George Eastern Orthodox Serbian Church. He is survived by his wife, his high school sweetheart, JoAnn (Rogich) Meanor, whom he married on September 23, 1972, his daughters, Nessa (Brian) Pitts and Tasha (Shawn) O’Neill, his son Joe Meanor, grandchildren, Riley and Drew O’Neill and Jared Joseph Meanor. Also surviving are his siblings, Raymond (Jean) Meanor, Nancy Allman, Mary Jane (Bill) Simon and Lori (Donnie) Grubb and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Fr. Aleksa Pavichevich and Fr. Dan Rogich officiating. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday one hour before the service.
