John Anthony Climo, 89, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. He was born on July 30, 1933 in Rochester, Pennsylvania to the late Sam and Lucy (Renzo) Climo.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his sister Josephine Julian.
John was a 1953 graduate of Massillon Washington High School, he played fullback. He was a 4 year starter and State Champion. He was a member of the Massillon K of C (3rd degree knight), The National Ford Retractable Club, The Kaiser Frazer Owner's Club International, and was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church. John was an avid car lover, and antique car collector. John and his wife owned and operated 6th Street Pizza and Koonies Bar for 12 years. He was a ceramic tile setter for most of his life and was an all around happy guy. John loved telling stories, especially the "clock story" from the old Washington High School. He loved to travel, and wouldn't pass up a junk yard or casino.
John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Jo Climo; daughters, Melissa (Jason Hall) Climo- Bogunovich and Cindy (Steve) Bratton; grandchildren, Kennedy Bratton, Karsen Bratton, Garet Bogunovich, Giana Bogunovich, and Gylian Bogunovich; and family friend, Stacy Hauner.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 and from 9am to 10am on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Paquelet Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Massillon with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
