John Charles Dommer

John C. Dommer, 81 of Lawrence Township, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. John was born on August 3, 1935 in Massillon, the son of the late Gottlieb and Eugenia (Stevens) Dommer. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Washington High School. John was a United States Army veteran and served our country during the Korean War. He retired from Republic Steel after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, and maintaining "The Farm". Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Dommer. He is survived by his son and daughter; Edward W. (Debbie) Dommer of Massillon and Lorrene McMasters of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Jason and Michael; step-grandchildren Danielle Arbogast, Josh Carey, and Angela Carey all of Cincinnati; 3 step-great-grandchildren also of Cincinnati; and his sister, Gretchen (Robert) Harder of Massillon. According to John's wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no calling hours or services. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to his son and daughter-in-law.
