John B. Lindamood, Esquire of Canton, Ohio, died Sunday, January 21, 2024 after a long battle with illness.
John was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 18, 1941 to H. Ray Lindamood and Betty Beyer Lindamood. He spent most of his youth in Orrville, Ohio. He attended Western Reserve Academy (1959), completed his undergrad work at DePauw University (1963), and received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University (1966) where he was a member of the Phi Delta Phi pre-law honor society and the editor of the Western Reserve Law Review.
John moved to Canton, Ohio to practice law. He was a partner with Vogelsang, Howes, Lindamood & Brunn; later Vogelsang, Howes, Lindamood, Zawaly & Brunn. He finished his career with Baker, Dublikar, Beck, Wiley & Mathews (North Canton, Ohio). While in Canton, he was active with the Stark County Lawyers’ Association (President 1989-1990); Ohio State Bar Association (Executive Committee 1982-1985); The Canton Jaycees; The Canton Exchange Club. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, A Fellow with the Ohio State Bar Foundation. He always had the highest rating with the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review. John loved to spend time on his pontoon boat on Lake Cable and golf, a member of Oakwood Golf Club. He also loved to collect baseball hats while traveling, or to support a sports team or a favorite interest. His collection numbers more than 800. He was fond of the special people from Helping Hands, Canton, who were there for support and assistance during his illness.
John is survived by his loving partner, Jane Nicholson; sister Sunny (Murm, to John) Lindamood Henry (Dan) of West Hartford, CT; son, Brad Lindamood (Lisa Keane) of Coral Springs, FL; daughter, Jennifer Lindamood Darnall (Matt) of Glen Ellyn, IL; nephew, Glenn Lindamood (Naomi) of Strongsville, OH; grandchildren, Nicole Darnall and Michael Darnall of Chicago, IL; nieces, Libby Henry Greenblatt (Aaron) of West Hartford, CT and Chrissie Henry Hoban, also of West Hartford, CT; grand-nieces Amanda Lindamood, Lila Greenblatt and Annabelle Hoban; grand-nephews Christopher Lindamood, William Hoban and Maxwell Greenblatt. He was preceded in death by his brother, James A. Lindamood.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 4pm-7pm at the Lake Cable Club House, 5725 Fulton Dr NW, Canton, OH 44718..
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society’s Cleveland Hope Lodge or Western Reserve Academy.
