Joann A. Murajda

JoAnn A. Murajda age 76 of Massillon passed away Wednesday at Aultman Hospital. JoAnn was born December 19, 1934 in Big Run, PA to the late Joseph & Theresa (Zuby) Ostrowski and moved to Ohio in 1952. She had been an employee of the Medina County Clerk of Courts for 17 years. An avid square dancer she belonged to several groups: Swing A Lings, Lads & Lassies and Shirts & Skirts. JoAnn loved being outside working in the yard. Her greatest life accomplishment was visiting the Shrine Medjugorje of on two occasions where she renewed her wedding vows on Apparition Hill. JoAnn is survived by her husband of 58 years Michael J. Murajda; two daughters, Mary Jo (Dick) Sanders and Rebecca Racey; a brother David Ostrowski. She has four grandchildren: Jaime Sanders, Ashley (Sanders) Green, Morgan Sanders and Jakob Racey and a great granddaughter Holli Bonar (the light of her life). A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, her pastor Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
