Joan M. Miller, 86, of Massillon, passed away on November 10, 2023, following a brief illness.
She was born on February 27, 1937 to the late John and Mary Spillar of Chicago, IL.
Joan was a graduate of Morocco High School, Class of 1955 in Morocco, IN. She married Ronald Miller and together they raised seven children. They initially lived in Indiana, moved to Michigan and in 1967 settled in Massillon, which would be their home for the remainder of their lives. She was a rural carrier for The United States Postal Service, Canal Fulton Office for over 20 years. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she served playing piano. She had a deep dedication to her Lord and family. She lived a life of service to others, whether it was family or to people she came across during outreach for her church. She enriched every life she came in contact with. Joan attended countless athletic and school events for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, family time, board games, reading The Bible and newspaper, and watching The Chicago Cubs.
Joan is survived by her loving children, Mary R. (Todd) Bentzel, Bill Miller, Ronald Miller Jr, Daniel Miller, Christopher Miller, Kevin (Rochelle) Miller, and Vincent (Joanna) Miller, ten grandchildren Brian, Lindsey, Brett, Eric, Brittny, Jake, Ashlee, Samuel, Lucas, and Zackary; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Miller; and brother, Jack Spillar.
All services are private with a private burial at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
