Joan Lenora Miles

Joan Lenora Miles (76), loving mother and friend, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, January 26, 2015, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Greenmount, Maryland, October 19, 1938 to the late Lawrence and Pearl Leister. We take great comfort in knowing that she is now with her husband and daughter, and most of all, her best friend Jesus Christ. She was best known for her devotion to her family, her service of care and hospitality to so many – especially for widows in need. She was always, unselfishly thinking of others and blessing them with her fabulous cooking and sewing. She emulated true generosity with her time and set an amazing example through her many acts of kindness. Most importantly, she left a legacy of faith and prayer that will continue for generations to come. She was deeply cherished and respected by all of her family. She leaves behind her children, Samuel Jr. (Leonida), Steve (Teresa), Stuart (Kris), Sheldon (Michelle), and Sharon (Craig) Butler, and all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her sister, Lois Wainwright of Maryland. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Sr. and oldest daughter, Sally. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all health care workers who participated in her care throughout her time of sickness. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home , Massillon, Ohio on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 1:00PM-3:00PM with a funeral service to follow at 3:00PM and on February 3, 2015 at the Eline Funeral Home , Hampstead, Maryland from 11:00 -12:15PM with a prayer service held at 12:15PM, burial will follow in Greenmount United Methodist Cemetery.
