Joan L. Burtt

Joan L. Burtt, age 80 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2020. She was born on May 01, 1939 in Massillon to the late Altha (Rowland) and Clement Rook Sr. She was a 1957 graduate of Jackson High School. She married Donald E. Burtt on May 13, 1961 and they shared almost 38 years together until his passing in 1998. Joan was a homemaker and spent her life taking care of her family. She enjoyed camping and watching the wildlife, coloring and making crafts. She will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Timothy (Marlene Heid) Burtt, David (Carol) Burtt and Kevin (Theresa) Burtt; her daughter Sharon Burtt; her grandchildren Christopher (April Poisson) Mahan, Angel (Mike Reynolds) Mahan, Kara (Mike Riley) Mahan, Amber Burtt, Victoria Gibbons and Thomas Burtt; a great-granddaughter Addalynn; her brothers Clement (Ruth Ann) Rook Jr., Ronald Rook, and James (Christina) Rook, as well as a host of family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Lynn Burtt. A Celebration of her life will be held at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 11a.m. Pastor Calvin Hamblin will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 6-8p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service.
