Joan Joann T. Dawson

Joan “JoAnn” T. Dawson, age 65 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on April 30, 1945 in Massillon the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Czakel. Joan was a lifelong resident of Massillon. She was a 1963 graduate of Tuslaw High School. Joan enjoyed attending flea markets, shopping in Amish Country, making flower arrangements and taking walks. She was a loving mother, aunt, and sister. She will be forever missed by her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Czakel. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Angela (Patrick) DiGiacomo of Massillon and Dennis (Irene) Dawson of Augsburg, Germany; her sisters and brother, Carole Miller, Janie (Jeff) Wetzel and Joe Czakel all of Massillon; many nieces and nephews and her special nephew, Chad Wetzel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
