Joan J. Skirtich

Joan J. Skirtich, age 71 of Navarre passed away Thursday May 6 at her residence surrounded by family. Joan was born September 4, 1938 in Canton to the late Emil J. & Rita (Barrett) Ehret. In 1956 she graduated from Canton South High School. She was a retired homemaker. She loved her Faith, Family and Friends. She was very accommodating to the needs and wishes of her family. Enjoying decorating, painting and keeping a warm home was her hobby. In addition to her parents, three sisters preceded her in death: Patricia Ulrich, Jeanne Cush and Nancy DiSimone. Joan will be deeply missed by her husband of 49 years, Joseph M. Skirtich of the residence; four children and their spouses, Daniel & Chauni Skirtich of Navarre, John & Janine Skirtich of Bolivar, Amy & Gerald Hammel of Navarre and Janis & Marc McGrath of Strasburg. She leaves nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren that she dearly loved. Joan has three surviving brothers: John Ehret, Michael Ehret and Daniel Ehret. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday May 8, 2010 at St. Clements Catholic Church in Navarre. Fr. Edward Beneleit will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Clement’s Cemetery. The procession will form at the church. The family would appreciate any memorial donations to either St. Clements Memorial Fund or St. Vincent de Paul Soc. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon.
