Joan E. Humphrey, Known too many as “Aunt Joan” was a true meaning of a Humphrey, tough in every aspect, found peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 4, 2018. She was born September 30, 1944 to the late Clifford and Nettie Humphrey. Joan had been a lifelong resident of the Massillon area and was a former employee of West Stark Family Services. In her younger years Joan had modeled for Sherry Lee Modeling Agency and was proud of modeling for the All-Star Game at the Onesta Hotel. Joan enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, reading her Bible, going for rides, and had a devoted love for chocolate and the Red Lobster. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her only daughter Marcy (Eric) Currie; the light of her life granddaughter Alexis; sister’s, Diane (Richard) Schmidt, Shirley (William) Callahan; brother, Richard (Judy) Humphrey; special friends: Mary, Janet, Sib, Sugar, Marlene and Patty; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ronald and Junior Humphrey; sister-in-law Terri Humphrey and niece Kimberly Jo Biehl. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Guy Blaser, Dr. Norch, Laurels of Massillon, Affinity Hospital, and Joann for the exceptional care given to my mother. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. “I know Mom you will be waiting at the Old Navy for me” I Love you, Marcy.
