Joan D. Snyder

Joan D. (Botschner) Snyder-Born: July 23, 1929 -Died: July 16, 2017 Beloved wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Preceded in death by the love of her life, Bob (Robert D.) Snyder. Survived by her sons & daughters-in-law: Scott & Debbie, Randy & Joni, Dan & Jeanne, grandchildren Jacob, Melanie, Lianna (Jesse), Joe, Zachary and Nathan, great-grandsons Lukas & Dekon and brother Andy Botschner and nieces and nephews. Joan was born in Massillon to Andrew and Susan Botschner. She was a loyal Massillon native for her entire life and very proud to have had the privilege of being a Massillon Tiger cheerleader. She graduated from Massillon High School and went on to Heidelberg University to obtain a teaching degree. Spent her career teaching in the Coventry & Manchester school systems and at the Portage Lakes Career Center. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Pocock and Betty Botschner, brother-in-law Don Pocock and sister-in-law Barbara Botschner. Joan was never happier than when she was on a lake, boating and fishing with her family. She also shared her love of baseball with her husband and sons. Calling hours will be 6PM to 8PM Thursday at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE., Massillon, OH 44646 and at St. John Lutheran Church, 1900 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44626 from 10AM to 11AM Friday. Funeral Service at the church following the calling hours on Friday. Burial will immediately follow at Rose Hill memorial Gardens and Mausoleum 3655 Wales Rd. NW, Massillon, OH 44646.
