Jimmie D. Mccreery

Jimmie D. McCreery, 79, passed away on October 3, 2015, following an extended illness. He was born in Massillon on July 18, 1936 to the late Evron C. and Nellie Mae (Lewis) McCreery. Jimmie retired from Timken in 1982. He was a member of Bible Methodist Church and attended Wesleyan Methodist Church, Massillon. He was known for his sense of humor and his dedication to family. He also enjoyed camping, wood working and stock car racing. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Define) McCreery, whom he married, November 20, 1965; their children, Sherry McCreery, Cindy (Jeff) Ricker, Cathy (James) Winter all of Massillon, Jimmie (Bev) McCreery, Jr. of Wadsworth, David (Diana) McCreery of Massillon and Rev. Roger (Rachael) McCreery of Coshocton; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four brothers, Russell, Paul, Art and Roger McCreery all of Texas. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Harper-Rank; brother, Earl McCreery; and his faithful companion, Mitzi. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery.
