Jimmie B. Gauze

Jimmie B. Gauze, age 78, of Jackson Township, passed away August 24, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 6, 1935 in North Industry, Ohio the son of the late Harry and Lois (Snyder) Gauze. Jim graduated from Canton South High School in 1953. He joined the United States Marine Corp. in July of 1953 during the Korean War. Jim graduated from Canton Actual Business College with degrees in Accounting and Business Administration in 1958. After working several places he started his own income tax and accounting business in 1970 and retired in 1997. Some of Jim's hobbies included fishing, playing his guitar, singing country music, and dancing. He was a member of Ohio Country Western Music Association Canton Chapter and North Lawrence Fish and Game Club. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth and his brothers Jack, Bob, and Tom. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Shirley (Uhl) Gauze whom he shared 54 years of marriage; his sons Tim and Tom; three grandchildren; one great grandson; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Charlotte Gauze; and his sisters Analee Meriman and Barb Stephens. Cremation has taken place at his request. A Celebration of Jimmie's life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Rev. Atlee Hershberger and Rev. Galen Oakes will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
