Irvin James (Jim) Amenhauser was born in Oberlin, Ohio on May 1, 1943 and went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2024.
Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth (Davis) Amenhauser; daughter Wendy Jo Wells of Amissville, VA; five grandchildren, Tyler James Wells, James Everett Moore III, Kayla Marie Morrisson, Alexandra Gabrielle (Lexi) Wells, and Madison Elizabeth (Maddie) Wells; two sisters Jean Sherrard and Judy Walker; three brothers Lewis John Amenhauser, Edward Amenhauser, and David Amenhauser.
Jim was preceded in death by two daughters, Christy Renee Moore and Holly Lynn Amenhauser; his mother Rita (Mowatt) Amenhauser and his father Lewis Amenhauser; two sisters Marie Westfall and Shelby Amenhauser and one brother, Dennis Amenhauser.
Jim was a pipeline welder and a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 94 and 798 of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
After his retirement, Jim pursued his love of music and performed in various coffee houses and similar genres. He wrote many songs and recorded an album, “Sky Blue Cowboy”. He was a big fan of Hank Williams.
Jim loved baseball and was a loyal Guardians (Indians) fan and his favorite TV show was “COLUMBO”.
Jim and his wonderful sense of humor will be sadly missed by all.
The family would like to thank all the tireless, wonderful nurses and staff at Aultman Hospice for their kindness and loving care during Jim’s long illness. It will never be forgotten.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 at 12:00 PM, at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales rd. NE, Massillon, OH, 44646, where the family will receive friends ONE HOUR PRIOR to the service. Interment will immediately follow in Brookfield Cemetery.
