Jessie Thoburn Morrison

Jessie Thoburn Morrison, age 93 of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 surrounded by her family, the loving staff at the Hospitality House and Harbor Light Hospice . She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on January 1, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Lois (Perry) Thoburn Jessie moved to Massillon in 1943 and resided here for 71 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She worked at Ohio Continental Can in Massillon and Ekco Products. She also worked as an LPN at Massillon Community Hospital for more than 5 years and retired from Massillon State Hospital after 15 years of service. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She loved crocheting and various types of art work. Most of all she loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dennis Morrison, her son John B. Morrison, her brothers, John Thoburn, Tom Thoburn and Byron Thoburn and her sister Ruth Scheehle. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ruth and Jack Urwin, her son James Curtis Morrison, her grandchildren, Todd Urwin, Jennifer Danner, Kurt and Angelique Morrison and her great grandchildren, Madison and Tyler Danner. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Pastor Chip Belanga officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday one hour before the service. Those who wish may leave a fond memory or a condolence at www.paquelet.com.
