Jessie Sue Smith-Dampier

Jessie Sue Smith - Dampier, 66, passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2021. She was born in Upper Glade, WV on December 19, 1954 to the late Roy Lee and Mary Faye (Reed) Smith. She was known as the neighborhood mom, dedicated to her children and helping raise many of the children around the area. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Larry Bruce Dampier, whom she married on December 13, 1980; their children, Ethel B. (David) Smith-Dampier-Sheets, Delora L. Dampier and Christina F. Dampier; grandchildren, Zachary, Mason, Qui-vonna, Jayven and Jenesis; great-grandchildren, Carter, Kobe and Brae’lynn; her siblings, James (Donna) Smith, Don Smith, Nancy Phillips, Tresa Mays and Martha (Juan) Garcia. In addition to her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by a granddaughter Christina II; and siblings, John Smith, Betty Durbin and Retta Smith. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
