Jessie Bell Powell

Jessie B. Powell, 88, of Navarre, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014. Jessie was born on December 5, 1925 in Cambridge, Ohio the daughter of Louis James and Estella (Mook) Moffett. Jessie lived in the Massillon area most of her life. She was an L.P.N. at Massillon State Hospital, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed knitting, growing roses, watching NASCAR and spending time with her family. Jessie was a member of Church of Christ in Massillon. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Powell, her grandson, Eric Powell, and her brothers, William Moffett and John Moffett. She is survived by her children, Judy (Gene) Border and Lester E. (Jean Housos) Powell; her grandchildren, Kristi McGonagle, and Tracey (Chris) Shaeffer; her great grandchildren, Justin, Zack, Tyler, Nicholas, Dakota, and Rylee; her sisters, Grace Anderson, and Frieda Williams. A Celebration of Jessie's Life will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Minister Glen E. Hawkins, Officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
