Jerry Lee Collings, age 71 of Jackson Township, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015. He was born on May 15, 1943 in Massillon and was the son of Evelyn (McMannis) Collings and the late Harry Collings. Following his graduation from Washington High School, Jerry attended the Ohio State University he then enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served during the Viet Nam Conflict. He then attended Kent State University. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9795 in Canal Fulton, the Coventry-Akron Lodge #83 F.& A.M., was the P.P. and a member of the Legacy Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star 596 and was a member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother David Collings. Survivors include his wife, Beth A. (Lease) Collings, whom he married on July 27, 1963, his daughter, Connie M. (Dirk) Collings, his son, William A. Collings, his mother Evelyn Collings, his sister Cheryl (Norman) Woods, his sister-in-law, Sue Collings, his brothers-in-law, Bryan (Dalene) Lease and Samuel (Dale) Lease and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 1:00 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Canal Fulton. There are no calling hours.
