Jerelyn Louise Vrotsos

Jerelyn Louise (Simms) Vrotsos Jerry Vrotsos was born January 13, 1932, in Cameron, West Virginia; she died December 8, 2020, in Green, Ohio. Her parents were Clyde Ellsworth Simms and Julia Reed Beck. She was educated at Martins Ferry High School in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Jerry was an insurance office administrative secretary, a homemaker, and a longtime school administrative secretary at Massillon High School. She was married to Nick Vrotsos for sixty-five years, having met him through his sister Daisy, her high school classmate. She loved being his wife and his biggest fan; she delighted in being a part of the Massillon tradition and community for over sixty years. She was a devoted wife and mother and a most generous and thoughtful woman. She especially delighted in her family, including the extended Vrotsos and Simms families—and of course her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thank you to all who knew, befriended, and assisted her over the years. She was preceded in death by daughter Janice Lynn (Vrotsos) Groves (Abraham) and her brother Larry Simms. She is survived by her son Jeff (Janine); her grandchildren Greg Vrotsos and Laura Ward (Mark); her great grandchildren Aden, Merrill, and Ellery Ward; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A brief, socially distanced graveside tribute will take place for friends and family on Monday, December 14, 2020, at 1:30pm at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens (3655 Wales Avenue NW, Massillon, OH 44646).
