Jennell Freeman

Missionary, Mother Jennell Freeman, 81, of Canton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was born on February 4, 1942 to the late George Lyndsey Freeman and Annie Bell Blackshear in Dublin, Georgia.

Jennell graduated from McKinley High School in 1960 where she was very active in the Marching Band and played the French Horn. She worked at various jobs and retired from the Hoover Company. Following her retirement, she worked for Walmart for many years. She attended Shilo Baptist Church, then later Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1968 where she held various positions, including secretary and raising money for the church. Wherever there was a need she would just jump right in with all her heart and soul. Her motto was “In everything you do, do it for the Lord and not for man”. Colossians 3:23

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ernest Roberson, Sr., her sisters, Willa Bell Terrell, Josephine McRoy, Rosa Woods, Arlene and Darlene Roberson, brothers, Darris and Ernest “Bobo” Roberson, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her special dear son, Jeffrey Daryl Freeman, Sr; special grandson, Jeffrey Daryl (Samantha) Freeman, Jr. who she raised as her own son; special granddaughter, Brenda Faye (Reggie) Freeman; grandsons, Terrance (Tameka) Smith, Eric (Karen) Tilton; granddaughter, Nikki Napier; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Napier; great-granddaughters, Kiara, Nevaeh, Deja, Arianna, Novella Jennell; special great-grandson, Brenden Michael Craig who attends Notre Dame College; special sisters, Evangelist Susie (Isaiah) Randle, Joyce Clipper, and Debora Roberson; special brothers, Minister Johnnie and Clifford Roberson; special nieces, Charity Smith, Annie Gamble, and Angela Pierce; great nieces, Symphany, and Nysaiah Randle; great nephew, Isaiah Randle; and a host of nephews and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the church on Friday. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.
