Jeffery L. Phillips, age 58, went home suddenly to be with the Lord on June 07, 2020. He was born to Harrison and Judy (Pledgure) Phillips on July 19, 1961 in Massillon. Jeffery was 1979 graduate of Washington High School. He was married to Annie Phillips until her passing. Jeffery served in the US Army from June 1979 through June 1982 with an honorable discharge. He was an entrepreneur and owner of JPeezy's Shop and was in the process of opening another clothing store. He loved life and he loved his family. He enjoyed family gatherings and also enjoyed walking the monument steps. He was an all around handyman and loved doing odd jobs such as painting, carpeting and he could fix just about anything...He was also known as being the cool GQ uncle and had a sense of fashion with clothing and cars.. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents; Harrison and Judy Phillips; his children Jamar (Jamie) Longshore, De’Angelo (Gabrielle) McClendon, and Cashmere McClendon; his grandchildren Zakar, Myah and Justice; his sisters Sheila (Adris-“Willie”) McGhee, Reverend Joyce Phillips, Jacqueline (Leon) Carter, Reverend Gaylin (Joshua) Johnson, Sylvia Phillips, and Christa Smart; step-sister Kristy Groce and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Annie; his brother Michael Roberts and his sister Valerie (Fid) Phillips. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Massillon at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until the time of the service.
