Jean Marie Nussbaumer

Jean Marie Nussbaumer, 85, of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Arizona while staying with her son John. She was born on August 14, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late Louis and Clara (Kline) Huber. She was a 1953 graduate of Central High School and graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1956. Jean made her entire career at Mercy Medical Center as an RN for 35 years. She was a member of the Columbian Ladies and St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. While in Arizona with her son for 7 months, Jean met many new friends and her newfound dogs. She loved spending time with her family. Jean was so proud to mention to everyone that all her children’s names started with a “J”. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Nussbaumer in 2017 whom she shared 60 years of marriage before his passing. She is survived by her children James Nussbaumer, Joan Valentine of Phoenix AZ, Jan (Phil) Oprean, John (Theresa) Nussbaumer of Phoeniz, AZ, Jolyn Warth, and Jeanna (Chris) Costanzo; 14 grandchildren; 14 great – grandchildren; her identical twin sister Joan Parks of LaMesa, CA; and numerous dear friends from the Canton/Massillon area. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Fr. Brian Cline will be Officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. before the service.
