Jean M. Thor

Jean M. Thor, age 87 of Perry Township, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Hospitality House. She was born on July 6, 1926 in Roseau, Minnesota and was the daughter of the late Gustav and Hannah (Tornquist) Gustafson. Jean was a registered nurse and retired from Aultman Hospital. She also shared in her husband's ministry locally at Eleventh Street Church of God and Bolton United Methodist Church. Jean was an amazing caregiver as was shown in her role as a Mom, her career as a nurse and her partnership with her husband in the ministry. Her family was so important to her. Her heart was filled with love for her husband, pride for her children, joy of her grandchildren and a twinkle in her eyes for her great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J. Clifford Thor, her brother Harold Gustafson and her sisters, Margaret Lindholm and Ruth Gustafson. She is survived by her children, Connie (Mike Robey) Dumoulin, Duane Thor and Karen (Jay) Barker, her grandchildren, Katie (Tim) Wells, Alyson (Erik) Sievert, Jill (Caleb Marlow) Thor, Melody Thor, Bryce Barker and Dana Barker, and her great grandchildren, who called her "GG" , Mia, Ella, Gabe, Liam and Luka. A service to celebrate her life will take place at the Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 21st at 11:00 A.M with Dr. Bryan George officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. and at the church one hour before the service. Jean's family would like to thank Church of the Lakes, Hospitality House and Aultman Hospice for their exceptional care and especially family and friends for their love and support .
