Jean E. Reemsnyder, age 81 of North Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Massillon, Ohio died on Friday, March 20 at Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, Florida after a brief illness. She was born on July 18, 1927 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Johnson) Hixenbaugh. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Reemsnyder in 1996. She is survived by her son, Ronald D. Reemsnyder, his wife Susan of Big Canoe, GA, daughter Linda Fink and her spouse David of Marietta, GA. five grandchildren: Carolyn (Reemsnyder) De Jarnett, Andrea (Reemsnyder) Storck, Jill Reemsnyder, Jennifer (Fink) LeClercq, and Jeremy Fink, three great grandchildren: Susanna, Charlotte, and Calvin DeJarnett, two sisters: Donna Gamary, Betty Sheetz, and a brother Richard Hixenbaugh. Jean graduated from Washington High School, Massillon in 1945. She retired in 1992 after 30 years in the Sales Dept. at the Akro Corporation in Canton. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. The family will receive friends at the Arnold Lynch Funeral Home on Friday March 27th from 5-7 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday March 28 at 10:00 A. M. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Massillon with Rev. Jeffery Shultz officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery in Canton.
