Jean E. Gifford

Jean E. Gifford, age 76 of Perry Township, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Aultman Hospital. Jean was born on August 20, 1936 in Freeport, Ohio the daughter of the late Fred and Ruth (Santee) Moore. Jean lived in the area most of her life. She was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School. She retired from Planned Parenthood, where she worked as a secretary. Jean was an active member at Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Woman's Guild and on the bereavement funeral dinner committee. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Paul Moore. She is survived by her husband Chester 'Al' Gifford with whom she shared 55 years of marriage; her children and their spouses, Scott (Jayne) Gifford, Shelley Showers, and Barry (Amy) Gifford; her grandchildren, Christa & Keith Gifford, Patrick & Alex Showers, Tim Shumway and Emily Gifford; her sister, Thelma Webb; and her sister-in-law, Joyce Moore. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Rev. Julia Wertz will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
