Jean Audrey Murphy

Jean Audrey Murphy, 91, of Jackson Township went home to be with the Lord on July 21, 2017. She was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on May 21, 1926 to the late Richard E. and Esther Ruth (Coast) Bayne. Jean married Howard Murphy on April 5, 1947. They shared 52 loving years together before his passing in 1999. Jean was the co-owner of White Rose Laundries, which she started with her husband. She was a very active member of the Canton Baptist Temple and a former member and Sunday School teacher at Maryland Avenue Baptist Church. Jean was also a member of Shady Hollow Country Club for many years. One of Jean’s greatest qualities was her self-less love and compassion for her family which will never be forgotten. She is survived by her children Becky (Rick) Sadler, Sandi (Daniel) Bennett, Patty (Bob) Long and Kevin Murphy; sisters Esther Ruth (Ernie) Blythe, Mary Ann Estermyer and Carol Kain; grandchildren Lisa (Eric) Kochendoerfer, Rick Sadler, Adam (Deanna) Sadler, Joshua (Jill) Long and Ricki Lea (Ryan) Winfield; 5 great-grandchildren. Jean was also preceded in death by her brother Lewis Bayne and sister Linda Bayne. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jake Tovissi officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
