Janis Sue Weltlich

Janis Sue Weltlich, 85, of Dalton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. She was born on November 10, 1937 to the late Donald and Helen (Timney) McFarren.

Janis was a 1955 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. After graduating, she was employed by the former Enterprise Aluminum Company where she worked as a bookkeeper in the Accounts Receivable Department. She later became a homemaker, devoted to being a mother and wife. As her children grew up, she did some part time work in the dietary department at Shady Lawn Nursing Home and also as a substitute in the cafeteria at Dalton High School.

In addition to her parents, Janis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Duane Weltlich; her twin brother, Jon McFarren; brother, Donald (Betty) McFarren; sister, Gloria (Raymond) Hofacre; brother-in-law, Arthur Altimore; and brother-in-law George (Luella) Weltlich.

Janis is survived by her sister, Shirley Altimore of Dover; daughter, Bonnie (Larry) West of Dalton; son, Eric (Cheryl) Weltlich of Wooster; grandchildren, Lauren (Anthony) Weaver, Thaddeus West, Tristan Weltlich, and Katelynn Weltlich; sister-in-law, MaryAnn McFarren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Paquelet and Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm, officiated by Tom Ledford. Burial will take place directly after services, at Rose Hill Cemetery.
