Janet Ruth Lacava

Janet Ruth LaCava, age 60, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 12, 2009 after a long courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was born in New Britain, CT on March 27, 1948 to the late Erland and Ruth (Anderson) Nilson. She was a 1966 graduate of Berlin High School in Berlin, CT. Janet trusted in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, and would like all who read this to understand clearly that she is in Heaven today only because of her faith and trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, her sinless substitute. “Jesus saith… I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me”. John 14:6. With her constant smile and concern for others, she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends, including her Cornerstone Baptist Church family, and her former co-workers and customers at Arby’s Restaurant. She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Carmen; three daughters and sons-in-law Bethany and Ryan Gibson of Zanesville, OH, Rebekah and Brian DeWitt of Massillon, Ruthanna and Brian Ross of Canton; grandchildren, Tyler, Lana, and Conner Gibson; sister, Beverly Pawlak of Erial, NJ; brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Cheryl Nilson of Bowie, MD; also aunts, cousins, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating Janet’s life will be held Friday, January 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Massillon with Pastor Thomas K. Fryman, Jr. officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Interment will follow the services at Brookfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it would be Janet’s wish that memorial donations be made to The Missions Program at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 3955 Wales Avenue, Massillon, Ohio 44646 or Lifegate Ministry Inc., to help with the printing of God’s Simple Plan of Salvation Tracts, P.
